Broken Blender :(

Welp, I tried to avoid dairy and sugar, but thanks to KCACTF Region 2 volunteer work, I gleefully broke those resolutions. Lattes abound! Delicious, full-fat lattes!

And then my mother came to stay yesterday; 'twas her birthday. So I cooked up a big batched of yummy chicken enchiladas... with loads of cheese... and sour cream... and then of course I had to make a cake! Oh my, was it an excellent cake. Flourless, dark chocolate, full of sugar!

And the damned thing broke my $20 Hamilton Beach refurbished blender from Big Lots! Burnt the motor right out. No more hummus and baba ghanoush for me, I'm afraid, until it can be replaced. Clearly the gods are not smiling on this one.

So, it shall be store-bought hummus until I can purchase another blender.

But up for next week: more curry! Vegetable curry from the Moosewood Cooks Cook at Home Cookbook. On coconut rice. Am I excited or what? I'll be om nom nomming all week. And I've got some tilapia that'll be eating as well. Health food all around!
